Description

The bridge over the River Great Ouse, built around 1784, features significant modern repairs. It is constructed of red brick and has eight segmental arches. On the west side, there are added half-round gault brick cutwaters. The bridge is flanked by brick parapet walls topped with stone coping. In the center of the east wall, there is a plaque that is now unreadable but was a copy of an inscription from the previous bridge: 'Robertus Cooke, exaquis emersus, hoc viatoribus sacrum DD. 1637'. This bridge is part of a causeway that was constructed in 1776 and completed in 1784.
