Description

No. 3 The Avenue is an early 19th century Greek Revival villa located in Godmanchester. The building is two storeys high and constructed of gault brick, with the front covered in stucco. It features full-length pilasters at either end of the front, which support a pseudo-entablature with a parapet above. The front is symmetrically designed with five windows. The central doorway is flanked by Doric columns that support an entablature, with a fanlight above, all set within a round-headed recess. The entrance has a six-panel door and 19th century sash windows. The roof is modern pantile with brick end stacks, and there is a three-storey rear wing that has a hipped pantile roof.
