Description
No. 15 The Avenue is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It features a timber frame with whitewashed brick and plaster infill at the rear and in the front two left bays, while the rest of the structure has been rebuilt in whitewashed brick. The roof is half-hipped and thatched, with rebuilt brick chimneys located between the left bays and to the right. The house is 1½ storeys tall and has three bays. The ground floor has irregular wood and metal casements, while the upper storey has a 2-light metal casement in the thatch. There is a boarded door located in a gabled timber porch between the right bays. The gable facing the street features paired wooden casements and a four-panelled door. Additionally, there are lean-to extensions at the rear and at the far end of the house.
