Description
The Clifden Arms is a public house featuring a low medieval range on the right and a 17th-century cross wing on the left. The building is constructed with a timber frame and whitewashed brick infill, topped with thatched roofs, including a half-hipped roof over the right wing. A rebuilt brick chimney is located at the center of the left wing. The layout is T-shaped, with later extensions added to the rear gable of the cross wing. The cross wing has one and a half storeys and an attic, consisting of two bays. The front gable showcases a 19th-century two-storey canted bay window with wooden casements and a hipped slate roof, along with a similar two-light casement window above in the attic. There is a lobby entry with a 20th-century door on the left side, and the interior features stop-chamfered spine beams. The older wing has two concealed cruck trusses and is one storey with an attic, featuring irregular wooden casements and a rear entry.
