Description

No. 10 Star Hill is a house, now used as offices, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of Flemish bond red brick, with weatherboarding at the rear, and features Kent title and Welsh slate hipped roofs. The building has end stacks to the front range and a double-depth plan, standing three storeys tall.

The front of the house has a symmetrical three-window arrangement. It is topped with a parapet that has stone coping and a cornice band. The first and second floors each contain two tripartite 4:12:4 sash windows on either side of a central 12-pane sash window, all set in reveals beneath rubbed brick flat arches. On the ground floor, there are two canted bays with plate glass horned sashes, which date from the late 19th century. The entrance features a replacement two-leaf door with a fanlight that has glazing bars, set beneath a round-headed arch with two orders and imposts. There is also a return to Victoria Street, which includes an early 19th-century panel door with an overlight.
