Description
The Cottage, along with the adjoining stables, is located in the grounds of the Old Park Hotel. This building originally dates from the 17th century and was originally a single storey cottage. It was enlarged and deepened with the addition of an attic in the early 19th century. The front is made of tooled ashlar stone. It features leaded pointed arched casement dormers and one glazing bar sash window, along with a rustic porch. There are two similar dormers on the lower rear. The gable end reveals an earlier line of masonry. The roof is slate and has paired diagonally set chimneys, giving the building a picturesque appearance.
