Description

The stables, located 10 metres behind Park House, were built in the early 19th century and have undergone later alterations. They are constructed from Bath stone ashlar and feature slate hipped roofs. The stables are designed in a "U" shape and are single storey. The left side consists of seven bays with casements that have glazing bars, and there is a door opening to the left with plank stable doors. The central block includes a broad elliptical carriageway with wide 20th-century openings and plank doors on either side. The left side features a large glazed porch supported by cylindrical cast columns. The right block has three bays with casements and four door openings, all with plank doors. An open side has a rubble wall with weathered coping, and there is a broad gateway flanked by ashlar piers topped with stepped caps and ornamental urns. The stables are included in the listing primarily for their group value with Park House.
