Description
Claveys Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse with later alterations. It features smooth render on Doulting rubble and a stone tiled roof, which has a coped verge on the right and is hipped on the left. The building has three 19th-century gabled dormers and three restored ashlar ridge stacks. The farmhouse is designed in an "L" plan with an irregular facade, standing two storeys and an attic high, and comprising four bays. It has ovolo moulded stone mullioned windows with three, four, and five lights. The central door opening is framed by a bolection moulded stone architrave, topped with a semi-circular stone hood supported by elaborate scrolled stone brackets, and features a 19th-century six-panelled door. To the right return, there is a three-bay wing. In front of the farmhouse, there is a pair of ashlar gate piers with moulded caps. Inside, the left room on the ground floor has a broad stone fireplace with a chamfered four-centred opening, and there are two additional fireplaces with four-centred openings on the first floor.
