Description

The Old Park Hotel, excluding the modern eastern wing, is a building with a complex history, originating as a 16th-century farmhouse that was significantly altered in the early 19th century in a "cottage orné" style. It was further enlarged with an eastern extension in the mid-19th century.

The original western range is two stories high and constructed of ashlar, topped with a hipped slate roof. It presents an asymmetrical facade, featuring a two-window right-hand section, a canted projection, a single-window bay, and a canted west end with a setback, half-octagon corner turret. The windows are two-light, pointed-head casements with intersecting glazing bars, set within pointed arches. The turret has a steeply pitched slate roof.

The mid-19th-century addition, now containing the main entrance, is taller and built of rubble with ashlar dressings. It incorporates Dutch gables and panelled parapets. Features include mullioned casements and a two-story rectangular bay on the garden front.
