SZ48SE FARRIERS WAY 1354-0/9/306 Stone Place including attached Cartshed

GV II

House formerly farmhouse and cartshed. Early C17 house built by the Puckford family. Built of Isle of Wight stone rubble with old tiled roof and end chimneystacks, left side stone and right side brick. 2 storeys and attics 3 windows. 3 gabled dormer with 3 light casements. 1st floor has 3 3-light casements in stone mullioned surrounds. Ground floor windows restored and enlarged in early C20. Obtusely pointed stone doorcase with label mould above extending also above all ground floor windows. Blocked in relieving arch. On each floor to the extreme right is a blocked original mullion. Gable ends with kneelers. Right side elevation has a blocked attic mullion and cross shaped iron ties. Rear elevation has some square panelled timber framing with brick infill and 1 panel of wattle and daub. Interior has 4 centred arched stone fireplace with blank spandrels. Attached to right hand side is an C18 3 bay cartshed, open fronted to rear on wooden piers with padstones, the other sides of ironstone rubble with brick dressings and tiled roof.
