Description
The Stone House is a house from the early to mid-19th century located on Church Street in Charlbury. It is built from coursed squared rubble and features a stone slate roof. The house has two storeys and an attic, with a symmetrical three-window range. The windows are sash style with glazing bars and are set under cambered arches. The front door has raised and fielded panels, two glazed lights, and is framed by a reeded door-case with decorative paterae and a simple hood supported by consoles. A central low-set hipped dormer contains iron-framed casements with leaded lights. There are two chimneys at the gable ends. The interiors have not been inspected. The forecourt is enclosed by spear-headed railings with standards topped by urn finials. There is a former outbuilding attached to the right, which is now a garage, but it is not of special architectural interest.
