Description
The Albright House and wing to the east is an 18th-century house with mid-19th century alterations and an extension, located on Church Street in Charlbury. The building features dressed stone and a partially rendered plinth, with coursed squared rubble walls and timber lintels. It has a stone slate roof and is two storeys high with an attic. The front has a symmetrical three-window range, with a large-pane window on the right and a similar bay window on the left at ground level. The first-floor sash windows have glazing bars and are topped with a simple hood supported by consoles. An insurance plaque is located on the left-hand bay, and there is a moulded wooden eaves cornice. The left gable has kneelers at the coping, and there are three gabled dormers with wooden casements. The building has two end chimneys. The right part of the house is also two storeys and features a two-window range of sashes with glazing bars under flat stone lintels. There are panelled double doors leading to a flattened carriage arch on the left. The roof is low-pitched and slate-covered, with an ashlar end-chimney finished in brick. The interior has not been inspected.
