Description

The Cottage is a 17th-century house located on Church Street, Charlbury. It was originally listed as a house adjoining the Old Royal Oak to the east. The house is constructed of roughly coursed and squared rubble with a stone slate roof. It has two storeys and an attic. The facade features a symmetrical two-window range. A half-glazed front door has a stop-chamfered lintel that matches the lintels above the ground-floor windows. The left-hand window has a pair of sash windows with glazing bars, while the right-hand window has horizontal sliding sashes. The first-floor windows are casements with three leaded lights and central iron frames. Two identical gabled dormers are present, each with casements and glazing bars. A chimney on the left gable end has been heightened. The interior of the house has not been inspected.
