Description
Moorland Cottage, along with its cart-shed and stables, is a house built in the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the early 20th century. The structure is made of coursed watershot rubble and features a stone slate roof. It has two storeys and a double range.
The house has three windows on the first floor, with openings that have ashlar surrounds. There is a central early 20th-century six-panel door that is topped with a decorative timber porch. The ground floor has early 20th-century casement windows, while the first floor features a narrow sash window above the door, flanked by four-pane sash windows. The building has end stacks.
To the left of the house, the stable and cart-shed include a shuttered window, a boarded door, and a cart entrance with a segmental-arched head beneath a weather course on the ground floor. The first floor has a plain board door, an air vent, and a small four-pane window. The left side has ashlar coping. This building is included mainly for its group value with the surrounding structures.
