Description
Riddings West is a pair of cottages built around 1700 and in the mid-18th century. They are constructed from coursed watershot rubble and topped with a stone slate roof. The cottages are two storeys high and feature a total of two first-floor windows. Each cottage has one bay window and a doorway on the right side, with openings that have ashlar sandstone surrounds. The doorway on the left, dating from around 1700, has quoined jambs, a moulded arris, and a board door. The doorway on the right has interrupted jambs and also features a board door. The cottages have 4-pane sash windows and ashlar copings. There are ridge stacks located at the left and centre of the roof. At the rear, there is an outshut with single-light chamfered windows.
