Description
The Old Post Office is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed, rock-faced sandstone and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and three bays, with rusticated quoins at the corners. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door set within a plain stone surround, topped with a plain frieze and cornice. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are adorned with sandstone sills and lintels. To the left of the doorway, there is a letter box built into the wall. The roof is supported by paired stone gutter brackets, and there are kneelers and ashlar coping along the edges, with stacks at both ends. The Post Office has since moved to a single-storey extension on the left side of the building.
