Description
The building known as the House to the east of Moorland Cottage is a late 18th-century structure that has undergone early 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of rubble with a stone slate roof and stands two storeys high, featuring three first-floor windows in total.
The house has a central six-panel door from around 1900, set in an ashlar surround with straight tooling. This door is flanked by early 20th-century projecting bay windows, which are connected over the doorway by a verandah that has decorative edging on the timber awning. Above the door, there are two four-pane sash windows also in ashlar surrounds with straight tooling. The building has end stacks.
To the right, the cottage features a boarded door on the ground floor and a four-pane sash window on the first floor. It also has ashlar coping and an end stack to the right. The building is included in the listing mainly for its group value.
