Description

A pair of cottages, likely dating to the 18th century or earlier, although with 20th-century replacement windows. They are constructed of ironstone rubble with a tiled roof, hipped on the right-hand side, incorporating a brick chimney stack. A distinctive cornice is formed of three courses of vitrified headers and one course of red brick headers; red brick is also used for the dressings. The cottages have two storeys and four windows, with 20th-century casement windows on the ground floor featuring cambered heads. The doors are 20th-century replacements, secured with cross-shaped iron ties. The right-hand side elevation is of plain stone rubble.
