Description
The Old Rectory is a house that was formerly used as a rectory. It likely dates from the 17th century and has been restored and extended in the 20th century, with a lengthwise extension and a T-wing. The building is constructed of Isle of Wight stone rubble, featuring ashlar quoins and a half-hipped roof with two clustered brick chimneystacks set diagonally. It has two storeys and attics, with four windows in the original part. The windows are mullioned, with three or four lights and hood moulding, while the first floor has wooden windows. There is a projecting gabled modern porch and a plinth. The 20th-century extension has two bays and is made from matching materials, along with the T-wing that includes a dovecote in the attic. Inside, there is a stone fireplace with an early 18th-century profile.
