Description
This is a house dating from 1888 to 1890, designed by H.B. Measures and built by William Willett. It is constructed of red brick with terracotta dressings and has a steeply pitched, hipped clay tile roof. A polygonal brick chimney rises from the eaves in the centre, and there are other chimney stacks on the returns.
The house is single-fronted and arranged over three storeys plus an attic, with a 1:1 bay arrangement. The windows are a mix of styles, including many-paned sash windows, dormers with a flat-roofed dormer in the centre and an open pedimented top to the left bay, and a tall shaped gable to the right bay which incorporates a dormer window. The second floor has three windows opening onto a two-storey canted bay, and the window to the far left of the second floor provides access to a balcony with a bottle balustrade. A 20th-century glazed screen addition is present. An oriel bay sits above the recessed porch, which features an arched head and an original panelled door.
The property is fronted by brick and terracotta gatepiers, which are hexagonal and topped with ogee caps, alongside a low wall with railings.
