Description
No. 67 The Drive is a villa built in the 1880s by William Willett. It is constructed from yellow stock bricks and features extensive use of moulded brick for its Dutch gables. The roof is hipped and covered with slate, with a Dutch gable on the right side and end stacks. The building has three storeys, an attic, and a basement.
On the right gable, which slightly projects, there is a two-storey bay with sash windows that lack glazing bars, set under flat-arched heads with prominent key blocks. Above, there is a casement window under a similar basket-arched head, topped with a decorative Dutch gable that includes a bull's eye window.
To the left, the first floor features a slate-roofed canted oriel with a 20th-century window above that projects into the roof, accompanied by a small Dutch gable. The ground floor on the left has a doorway framed by a pilaster doorcase and a swan's neck pediment, with the right-hand part of the doorway cut off by the projecting gable, serving as an architectural feature. Additionally, there is a window to the left with a cut-brick apron and a basket-arched head.
