Description

75 The Drive is a house built between 1888 and 1890, designed by architect H.B. Measures and constructed by builder William Willett. It is in the Queen Anne Revival style and features red brick with terracotta detailing, steeply pitched clay tile roofs, and applied timber framing on the bargeboarded gable end to the right. The house has tile-hung dormers, also on the gable end to the right, and a bonnet hip roof over the oriel window at the entrance. A polygonal stack rises from the eaves at the center of the facade, with tall stacks on the returns.

The plan is single-fronted with three storeys plus an attic, featuring a 1:1 bay arrangement and mixed fenestration. Most windows have chamfered mullions with small upper lights, and there is a flat-roofed dormer in the center with many-paned sash windows. The second floor has two similar windows in the gabled dormer on the left, while the right side has three windows that provide access to a balustraded balcony of a two-storey canted bay. To the left, there is a semicircular oriel window with leaded lights above small four and two-light window openings that light the hall behind a flat-roofed terracotta porch, which has a moulded cornice and decorative panels at the dado. There is a segmental-headed opening to the right, three leaded lights to the left, and three bay returns, along with the original panelled door.
