Description

No. 60, including the walls fronting the road, is a villa that has been converted into flats. It was built in the 1880s by William Willett. The building features yellow stock bricks with extensive use of moulded and incised bricks for decorative elements such as cornices, aprons, string courses, and lintels. The basement is rendered, and the roof is hipped with slate, including a central bay that projects into the attic storey.

The villa has a double fronted design with two storeys plus an attic over a basement, arranged in a 3:1:3 bay configuration. Full height canted bays flank the central bay, which rises into the attic storey. The windows are sash type without glazing bars, set in segmental headed openings, with cills supported by shaped brackets. The entrance features a round arch supported by rusticated piers with ornate capitals, leading to a recessed panelled door with a fanlight and sidelights, accessed by a shallow flight of steps.

The walls and gatepiers fronting the road are made of brick with moulded coping. The dwarf walls are missing their original railings, and the square piers have moulded caps.
