Description
This is a detached house dating from around 1890, designed by Harry Measures and built by William Willett & Son. The ground floor is built of red brick, while the upper floors are of yellow brick with red brick dressings and pilasters at the corners. The roof is tiled, with a hipped and gabled form, dormers, and tall brick chimney stacks featuring projecting cornices. The design is asymmetrical.
The house is three and two storeys high, with attics and a semi-basement. It has three bays on the front elevation. Most windows have glazing bars to the upper portions. A narrow bay is followed by a gabled bay with a four-light canted bay window rising from the semi-basement and through the first floor. The first floor of the gabled bay has a brick balustrade leading to the second floor, and features paired sash windows with gauged brick heads and keystones. The gable above has a shaped Flemish design with a red brick band and ball finials. The entrance bay on the left has a brick portico with round-arched openings, with a central opening flanked by moulded and rubbed brick pilasters supporting a swag-enriched frieze and undulating parapet. It contains a part-glazed panelled door with sidelights and a fanlight, and a round-arched window with a keystone to the left. The first floor has two single windows flanking a central chimney stack, which rises through the centre of a gable, flanked by triangular lights. The interior has not been inspected.
