Description

This detached house at 39 Eton Avenue was built around 1900 to the designs of Amos Faulkner, and constructed by William Willett & Son. It is of red brick construction with stone dressings, and has tiled gabled roofs, dormers, and tall brick chimney stacks, the stack on the right return featuring a stone cornice. The house is two storeys high with attics, and has four bays, with the bay on the right being gabled. All windows feature small leaded panes. The left-hand projecting bay includes an eight-light canted bowed window extending through both the ground and first floors; the ground floor incorporates a transom and mullion, while the first floor has a three-light Venetian style window, and the gable features a small pediment finial. The entrance is located in the next bay to the right, with a carved doorcase. Other bays contain three- and four-light windows. The interior has not been inspected.
