Description

This is a lamp post located in front of number 23 on St Luke's Terrace in Brighton. It dates from the late 19th century or early 20th century and is made of cast iron and another metal. The lamp post features a cylindrical base with a lockable compartment marked "BLEECO." It has a fluted, tapering shaft that is topped with a basket capital and includes a maintenance yoke. Above, there is a swan-necked, tubular bracket that is supported by a metal fillet shaped like a tendril. The lamp is equipped with a shallow dish reflector.
