Description
This is a lamp post located at the bottom of St Luke's Road in Brighton, dating from the late 19th century or early 20th century. It is made of cast iron and another metal. The lamp post features a cylindrical base with a lockable compartment marked "BLEECO." The shaft is fluted and tapers upward, culminating in a decorative basket capital. It has a maintenance yoke and a swan-necked, tubular bracket above, which is supported by a metal fillet shaped like a tendril. The lamp is equipped with a shallow dish reflector.
