Description

This lamp post, located in front of Number 5 on Queen's Park Terrace in Brighton, is an electric light standard dating from the late 19th century or early 20th century. It is made of cast iron and another metal. The base features a cylindrical socle with a lockable compartment marked "BLEECO." The shaft is fluted and tapers upwards, culminating in a basket capital. Above this, there is a maintenance yoke and a swan-necked, tubular bracket that is supported by a metal fillet shaped like a tendril. The lamp has a shallow dish reflector.
