Description

This late 19th or early 20th century electric lamp post stands in front of number 19 on Queen’s Park Terrace, Brighton. It is constructed of cast-iron and another metal and comprises a cylindrical socle with a lockable compartment, marked "BLEECO." The design features a fluted, tapering shaft topped by a basket capital. A maintenance yoke is present. A swan-necked, tubular bracket is situated above the shaft and braced by a metal fillet shaped like a tendril. The lamp is completed with a shallow dish reflector.
