Description
This lamp post, located in front of number 38 on Queen's Park Terrace in Brighton, is an electric light standard dating from the late 19th century or early 20th century. It is made of cast iron and another metal. The base features a cylindrical socle with a lockable compartment marked "BLEECO." The shaft is fluted and tapers upwards, culminating in a basket capital. There is a maintenance yoke, and above it, a swan-necked, tubular bracket is supported by a metal fillet designed to resemble a tendril. The lamp is equipped with a shallow dish reflector.
