Description
The tram shelter, built between 1900 and 1904, is located on Queen's Park Road in Brighton. It is a single-storey structure with a rectangular plan and features a gableted roof covered in wood shingles. The shelter is partly open and constructed using narrow tree trunks in their natural state, giving it the appearance of a rustic cabin or primitive hut. This tram shelter was built as part of the Brighton Corporation's tramway system, which was authorized by the Brighton Corporation Act of 1900. The tram service began in November 1901 and the system was completed by 1904, comprising ten routes. This particular shelter served the Queen's Park, or "Q", Route.
