Description

This is a lamp post located adjacent to St Luke's Church on Queen's Park Terrace in Brighton. It dates from the late 19th century or early 20th century and is made of cast iron and another metal. The lamp post features a cylindrical base with a lockable compartment marked "BLEECO." It has a fluted, tapering shaft that is topped with a basket capital. There is a maintenance yoke, and above it, a swan-necked, tubular bracket is supported by a metal fillet designed to resemble a tendril. The lamp includes a shallow dish reflector.
