Description
North Lodge, along with its gate piers, gates, and railings, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed from yellow stock brick laid in Flemish bond and features a low-pitched slate roof. The roof has a central cupola with semicircular headed louvred openings on each face, a moulded impost band, a moulded cornice adorned with urns at the corners, a panelled top, a finial, and a weathervane. The building has a nearly square plan consisting of four cells, with a gabled outbuilding at the rear.
The exterior is a single storey with sash windows that have glazing bars, rubbed brick arches, and stone sills. There is a projecting brick plinth and a rendered dentilled and moulded eaves cornice. The entrance front, facing east, is symmetrical with three bays, featuring a half-glazed entrance door with an overlight in the centre.
The property includes four square stock brick gate piers topped with weathered stone, which are linked by plain iron railings with spiked tops. There is a pair of central iron gates that match the railings. The interior has not been inspected.
