Description

This milestone, located opposite the boathouse to the east of St Albans Lodge on Hampton Court Road, dates from the 18th or 19th century. It has a square shape with a pyramidal chamfered head. The eastern face displays the distances to Sunbury (2 miles), Staines (7 miles), and Windsor (13 miles). The western face indicates that Hampton Court Bridge is 12 furlongs away, and Kingston Bridge is 1 mile away, although the latter inscription is damaged.
