Description

Garrick's Shakespeare Temple is an octagonal brick structure built around 1765, topped with a lead dome. The east front features an Ionic portico that is eight columns wide and three columns deep. On the west side, there is a projection also topped with a lead dome. The ground floor has arched windows. The temple once housed a statue of Shakespeare by the sculptor Ronbilliac.
