Description
Orme House is an early 18th century house located on Church Street in Hampton. It stands three storeys high with a basement and is five windows wide. The building is constructed of brown brick with red dressings and features a tiled roof. The ground floor is stuccoed and designed to resemble ashlar stone. A modillion cornice runs along the top, and there is a brick band above the first floor. The house has a small central pediment with carved enrichment that was imported. The doorcase includes a flat hood supported by carved consoles, also imported. The windows are square-headed flush framed sash windows. A wrought iron weather vane is situated behind the pediment. Brick piers with eaves are present at the ends of the facade. Orme House is connected to Old Grange by a small one-window addition. Inside, the house features panelling, a staircase, and fireplaces.
