Description

Elmhurst is a late 18th-century building located on High Road. It is three storeys high and constructed of stock brick, featuring a symmetrical arrangement of sash windows with no glazing bars, arranged in a 1-3-1 pattern. There is a stone band above the ground floor windows and a cill band at the first floor level. The central doorway is round-arched and adorned with vermiculated stone rustications. Below the first floor windows, there are balustrades. The central window on the first floor has an architrave surround and a cornice supported by brackets. The building is topped with a cornice that includes mutules, a parapet, and a pediment. The roof is hipped and covered with slate. To the right, there is a three-window extension and a lower conservatory wing.
