Description
140 High Road is a late 18th-century building that was formerly numbered 111. It stands three storeys tall and is constructed of stock brick. The facade features three sash windows set in cased frames. At the center, there is a six-fielded panelled door with panelled reveals, a semi-circular radiating fanlight above, pilasters on either side, and console brackets that support a cornice. There are steps leading up to the entrance, which are flanked by iron railings. The ground floor windows have been widened in the 19th century and feature stone heads without glazing bars. A brick band runs along the building, topped by a parapet and a slate roof. The interior has been largely modernized, although the facade remains intact.
