Description
The George Inn is an early 18th-century building located on High Road. It is two storeys high, constructed of red brick, and features a band between the storeys. The facade includes nine sash windows in cased frames, with the ground floor windows lacking glazing bars. The two-window section at the south end is of a later date. Various windows and doors on the ground floor are in their original openings, and there is a projecting 18th-century porch supported by Tuscan columns, with wooden rails above. The building has a coved plaster eaves cornice and a hipped slate roof. A rear wing was added around 1900, and the interior has been entirely remodelled. The inn is set back from the road and has a swinging sign on a post.
