Description

Grove Lodge is a detached Tudor-style villa, dated 1835, located off High Road behind Nos 1 to 13 Electric Parade. The building has two storeys and an attic, featuring a steeply pitched red tile roof with gables that have carved wooden bargeboards. It is constructed of yellow stock brick with stone dressings and has two and three-light mullion windows topped with four-centred arched heads. The villa is adorned with tall octagonal chimneys that have moulded brick patterns. A gabled porch provides the entrance, which consists of a four-centred arch flanked by small shafts with capitals. The side elevations include blank lancet niches that appear to be intended for statues, while the rear elevation is plain.
