Description

The drinking fountain, located at the junction with Belvedere Grove, was built in 1868 and is made of Portland stone. Designed in the Gothic style, it has a square plan with gabled and pilastered sides, topped by a stone spire. The fountain features polygonal bowls on three faces, each with bronze, foliated water outlets. A brass plaque on the fountain bears the date and an inscription commemorating Joseph Toynbee Esq FRS.
