Description
The White House is a detached house built around 1850, located on Wimbledon Hill Road in the London Borough of Merton. The building is constructed of stucco and has two storeys with three main bays. The outer bays feature rusticated quoins and shallow gables.
The central entrance is recessed and flanked by Ionic columns, with a Greek key pattern frieze and niches containing statues on either side of the doorway. The entrance has a panelled door. Above the entrance is a loggia with a Serlian motif, topped by a cast iron balustrade featuring an anthemion pattern.
The ground floor has paired arched windows with stucco architraves, while the upper floor has single arched windows, which are flanked by Corinthian pilasters, except for the central window. The upper floor also includes paired arched subsidiary lights and timber mullions. A stucco cornice above the first floor appears to be simplified.
