Description

The drinking fountain on the green is a Grade II listed structure dated '1898' on its north side. It is made of Portland stone and sits on a blue brick base with a York stone front slab. The fountain stands 3 meters tall and is 1 meter square, designed in a Gothick style with a symmetrical pointed pinnacle and gabled faces. Each face features a chamfered pointed panel. On the west side, there is a projecting bowl with a disused outlet in the panel above it. The south side displays an inscription from the Bible. The base, made of red brick, features a cross motif on each side. This fountain is included in the register for its group value context.
