Description
Highwood is a house built in 1904 by W Dunn and R Watson as the bursar's house for Haileybury College. It was enlarged in 1935. The building is constructed of red brick and tile and features a tall design with two storeys and attics, set at an angle to the road. It has crow-stepped gable parapets and a similar gable on a full-height front stair-turret, which includes an entrance in the angle next to the house, styled in a Scottish manner. The entrance features a 4-centred moulded wooden doorframe in a 17th-century style. The windows are two-light casements with small panes. On the garden front, there is a two-storey tile-hung bay window, and a lozenge-shaped date panel is located on the gable.
