Description
37 and 37A High Street are a pair of semi-detached houses, now used as offices with shops on the ground floor. They date from the late 18th century and are constructed of brown brick with a slate hipped roof that reaches the eaves. The buildings are two storeys tall and each has two bays, with an additional blind centre window on the first floor. The ground floor features 19th-century shop fronts and 20th-century plate glass. The entrances to the shops are located in the outer bays. On the upper floor, the centre bay of each house is slightly set forward and is topped with a central pediment. The windows are square with gauged heads, are sash style, and include glazing bars. There is a return to the right with blind windows.
