Description

The base of the windmill at Mill House is a round structure that dates from around 1800. It is built from plum brick and is currently roofless. The building consists of a one-storey circular brick enclosure that features an original timber superstructure. This superstructure includes horizontal and diagonal beams that support a hollow vertical timber member, which is now also supported by a 20th-century fletton brick central pier. This structure is a rare example of a hollow-post windmill.
