Description
The windmill at Mill Farm dates from around 1746 and 1831. It features a combination of brick and stone with a timber structure inside and a 20th-century timber roof. The windmill has a circular battered tower with two stages, and the lower section is part of a post mill. Brick buttresses support stone blocks that carry the projecting ends of the cross trees. There is a pair of close boarded doors, with brick above inscribed 'TC 1831', and a pair of shuttered openings, all featuring segmental heads. The second stage includes a shuttered opening with a segmental head on the south-east side and a close boarded door on the north side. Inside, the main post is inscribed 'J.S. 1746', and there are cross trees and quarter bars made of oak, which are whitewashed.
