Description

Etton Mill is a windmill dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a tapering tower that stands four storeys tall. The ground floor has a boarded door, while the first floor includes a boarded taking-in door. The second and third floors are adorned with segmental-headed openings. The tower still retains its rack and kirb, along with an octagonal wheel and chain. Inside, there is an unusual post that rises from the ground to the second floor, supporting the millstones, similar to a post mill. At the time of the resurvey, the mill was disused and in a derelict condition, lacking a cap, sails, or machinery.
