Description

Newton House is a detached house, now used as offices, dating from the early 18th century, with later 20th-century additions. The house is constructed of stucco and has a steeply pitched roof covered in machine tiles. It is two storeys high with dormers, and presents a facade of three windows plus a single-storey wing to each side. The central entrance is square-headed, with pilasters and a cornice, and contains a partly glazed 19th-century six-panelled door. The windows are square-headed sash windows with glazing bars. A decorative band runs between the two storeys. Gabled dormers feature casements. The front room to the right of the entrance is fully panelled in an early 18th-century style and contains a turned baluster staircase. Later 20th-century additions to the rear are not included in the listing.
