Description

The White House is a detached house located in Cricket Green, Mitcham, built in the 18th century with an exterior dating from 1826. It is constructed of stucco and has three storeys, with a width of three windows. The central feature is a bowed porch with solid sides, supported by pilasters and flanked by Greek Doric half columns, leading to a square-headed entrance. The door is from the 20th century. The windows are architraved, with round-headed windows on the ground floor and square-headed windows above. The first-floor centre has corniced sashes with glazing bars, and there are blind boxes on the ground floor. A cornice runs above the second floor, topped by a parapet.
